The MC could have simply walked away or, even better, the first indication that her mentality will lead to future issues, break up with her. So let me get this straight, he asks her out and she rejects him. Then he goes depressed shut in. This part was quickly glossed over but this happened just before an important team tournament that im guessing hes involved in somehow. So feeling guilty she agrees but puts conditions. And if she ever breaks up with him he will go shut in mode again. Now theres no doubt she fell in love later but that was a scummy way to get her to go out with him at the beginning.

Akira really has no self respect for himself. Honestly I’m beginning to think that anime make characters have no self respect for themselves. Any guy with common sense would have dumped Aoi but Akira doesn’t seem to have common sense. Haruka was the better choice and Aoi took the relationship for granted and it wasn’t until she realized he might loose him then she started acting affectionate. Akira is a simp with no common sense and no self respect. I’ve seen stories like this one and it’s always the same result.

The MC is very simp, rejected before he get dated with him, treated coldy even after they get dated, even after all that he still love him. He should value himself more and asking why she looked like she hates him, in the first place why he still hold the relationship with the people who looked she hate him or only feel pity because she rejected him once?
