"There's no such thing as a painless lesson, they just don't exist. Sacrifices are necessary. You can't gain anything without losing something first. Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you'll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle. Yeah... a heart made full-metal."

DBZ: Dead Zone, Goku was throwing mean hands in that movie, the choreography was quite the something too, reconsider.

Realize this might not be the right thread for me, since everyone has their own opinions and it doesn't really matter to me, but "Vampire Hunter D" getting an 8 does surprise me. I thought that movie wasn't good at all - especially in comparison to the 2000 film.

i will defend gantz to my dying breath. the author cooks up some diabolical stuff sometimes but the obvious profound weight he places on the value of human life and the lengths he goes to in order to make you feel that weight earns far more respect from me than for the other worthless series that i throw into the dumpster with a rating of 1.
Also I understand why Babylon + Sunny Boy get flamed a lot but I don't think they deserve a 1, both seemed like fresh attempts to honestly create something interesting, and while they might not have hit the mark on being great shows I still appreciate the daring it took to create something like that in the era of studios absolutely playing each show they make as safe as possible to ensure they break even and can make the next show.
